I came up with three fun fourth of July ideas from one pattern. I know you will find them to be simple, easy and fun. These are great projects to get the whole family involved in. You can use whatever materials you have at hand, I made mine with some scarp materials left over from a follower of mine. You can use jeans, bandanna’s, along with other materials that contain red, white or blue in them.

The Fourth of July Pillow:

After I gather my materials at hand, I drew a star on paper and used this as my pattern. Feel free to go as large or small as you would like, furthermore you can find a star to print out as well if you can’t draw one.

Layer the material down and trace the star.

I suggest using a dark colored pen or pencil for the lighter material.

For the stuffing you can use cardboard, an old pillow, plastic bags, dryer sheets, newspaper, or scraps of material, I used an old pillow.

You can use fabric glue, Surebond, or simply sew the edges together. I had Surebond on hand for my project.

The stars I made had a different pattern on each side, this made it fun because you can switch up the styles.

Glueing down half of the star first makes it easier to stuff the inside.

To get the stuffing in the corners, I used a skewer stick. This made it easier to get in the small spaces.

I worked my way up to one corner of star, slowly poking the stuffing to the corner.

The Fourth of July Table Runner:

This is one I saw on Pinterest, this is a great example of how it can be used.

Other Suggestions:

You can fill a dough bowl, make a wreath, banner or table runner. They are all good choices with this star pattern. I would love to know what project you come up with. Using this pattern. Make sure to follow on Pinterest, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
