Items needed :

Indoor outdoor table cloths or shower curtain

PVC pipe

Fishing line or tension rod

Fabric glue or sewing machine

Since, we’ve all been shut in, I needed something bright and cheerful to look at. Since I live in the country, I sit on my front porch a lot. So, this needs to be an inviting area for me. I will sit and read my Bible, watch and listen to the morning doves, or catch the wild bunnies or foxes crossing by. This had to be done CHEAP and with items I had around the home, Since we are all shut in until further notice. I raided my closet in the garage. I found a Spring outdoor table cloth and a shower curtain. I love the colors in the table cloth. So, that was my choice. I will give you a link to the shower curtain I was going to use as well.

I know I wanted this cheap DIY Front porch ideas for my to look amazing. I wanted this to be a hanging valance for my front window. Next, I also wanted to make it feel like I was bringing the indoors outdoors.

I cut straight across starting at the bottom to where I wanted the top of the valance to end. Make sure you allow enough space. To sew or glue for your rod to feed through.

For me mine was a 2 inch rod allowance.

Made a simple straight stitch hem.
Once I was done sewing.I had to come up with a creative way to attach it.We have knocked down stucco. That is inside and around our windows. Being that my husband did not want that damaged. Which,is understandable.I had to come up with a MacGyver move. Lol
I found PVC pipe and fishing line in garage. Yes,I went into the Man Cave. Still alive to tell the story as well. Joking of course!

I Place the fishing line around the PVC pipe.

Attached it to the ceiling.

It hang very nicely.

It turned out better than I had hoped for. It feels cheerful and inviting. Will work for Spring and Summer as well. Did this for under $7. I would say that is taking the Ordinary to the Extraordinary on a cheap DIY for sure.
