If you are looking for 4th of July Decor for your home or front door…..

You’re going to love this DIY 4th of July Scrap Bow!

There is something about a day filled with family, BBQ, games, and laughter, followed up with a night of fireworks and fun… all while celebrating another year of America! Sound like the kind of day I would love to have. Anything to get back to the normal way of life and away from the Coronavirus. That is one thing I’m looking forward to this 4th of July. Another thing is being able to get my home decorated. So, that I can welcome all my family over. I have missed them dearly. I think that decorating the home sets the stage to welcome your guest and makes it feel more inviting. I think this DIY can be used all year round. It shows support to anyone whom may have served our country. Along with a reminder that this year, We all supported each other through this pandemic of this crazy virus!

The supplies needed for this project is:

* Wood slice 5×5 or what ever you may have on hand.

* Wood heart from the Dollar Tree

* Hot glue

* White paint

* Waverly wax

“ Antique” color

* Broken jewelry, button, or whatever you may like to embellish your bow

* Scrap materials or ribbon

* Jute string to hang from the back of wood piece

*Painters tape (or whatever tape you have on hand.)

 DIY 4th of July Scrap Bow:

You will paint the heart with one coat of Waverly wax.

Place the tape to create strips that are vertical. Leaving a small square shape on the corner of the heart.
Make sure the tape is laying flat to insure that the white paint will not bleed through, Use a stencil brush or sponge. To tap the white paint on the exposed wood.
I did use a skewer to touch up a few lines and sharpen the corner.
Helpful tip if you don’t have a small brush to make stars. Then use the skewer to paint them on.
I did bling mine up a little. But not needed for the project. These are just small little rhinestone you can pick up from the Dollar store
Here you can see me pressing down to bond it together.
I grabbed my scrap bucket and pulled out what I thought would match together for a Patriotic bow.
if you would like to directions for the scrap bow. Here it is https://www.facebook.com/DIYLivingByTalisaLindsay/videos/1863270327137034/?t=3
I placed a antique pearl bottom on top of my bow. I am in love with the out come. This is a great addition to add to a wreath or alone.
