DIY Card Holder

DIY's· Uncategorized

19 Dec
 This blog post comes to you as a necessity. I had these gorgeous Christmas cards flooding in from my followers. The issue was, I had nowhere to display them.So I had to put my thinking cap on and look through the items I had. This is what I came up with.

Items needed for this project will be:
* Ribbon of your choice. (Preferably wide ribbon)
* scissors
* Dollar tree ornament or ornament of your choice
* Hot glue gun and glue sticks
* Clothes pins Mine came off a separate project.
* Felt pipe cleaners
*Embellishments of your choosing

I started by laying out the Christmas cards that I wanted to hang up first. That way I would know how long to cut my ribbon to hang them from.

After cutting make sure to use a lighter to scan the edges.  This helps the ribbon to stay in place without fraying.

Now, because I love buffalo check and have plenty of it, I chose to layer two different ribbon colors together.

I put glue down on the bottom ribbon first. Pressing the top layer ribbon onto the glue. Next, I Continued all the way down to the end.

The attach the ornaments to the top of the ribbon. With the glue.

Next step was to choose what type of bow or scarf I wanted. It was a hard choice to make. The fur ribbon is more chic and the burlap bow is more rustic. As you can see above they’re both a great choice.

I embellished his hat and the close pens with the rhinestone snowflakes I got from the Dollar Tree

I wanted to add boots to the very bottom of the ribbon.I just freehanded what I thought looked like a boot on the ribbon, then I cut two of them out. Use the pipe cleaners to stabilize it.
I used the hanger from the top of the ornament. To hang it. I went was more of a rustic feel.
