I already had this pillow. I just didn’t want to alter it permanently. So I came up with an alternative.
After the holidays are over I could remove all of the decorations! No glue is needed, no sewing is needed, and no double-sided tape is needed. Just jute or ribbon is all I used to hold it together.
You will need the following:
Felt tree
Felt snow flake
Jute string
Ribbon
Scissors
pillow (s)
Here are a few ways you can use your Dollar Tree items.

First, Cut a long piece of jute string. You will need enough to wrap around your pillow several times. Start by wrapping your jute around the back onto the front.

Zigzagging it in and out of the holes of the tree.
Continue to wrap around back the pillow. Then to the front again. Doing the same zigzagging in and out of the holes until you reach the top.

Just to secure it a little more, I went back around the middle of the tree.Tied a bow in the center.
I think this also helps to add bit of country flair to it. If you dont like the jute look, you can always use a different ribbon of your choice or even double sided tape. I chose to do it this way for my preference.

I took a separate piece of jute to secure the top of the star. That way I can secure the bow that I was placing on the top separately.

I just eyeballed it as far as the size of bow. This is what I wanted to put on the tree as the topper. I’ve then cut a straight edge.
I Glued the two ends together on the ribbon.I pinched it together in the center to form a bow tie.

Next, I Glued the two ends together on the ribbon.I pinched it together in the center to form a bow tie.
I Left enough string in the back, so that I can make sure to attach it to the top of the star.

For the next pillow transformation, I went super simple.
This one is just so easy. Just grab some tinsel. Your choice of color. All you do is Tie it around the pillow. Then you have updated Christmas Home Decor.

For The Last project, all you will need is the felt snowflake and red buffalo check ribbon. All of this is from the dollar tree.

Wrap the ribbon around the pillow first to estimate how long you would like to have your bow. Then cut it.

Make two loops and tie into a bow.

So there you have it. A few different DIY projects to get ready for the holidays. Less than three dollars on each project. You can’t beat that for a friendly budget! Besides, they turned out absolutely adorable. Don’t forget to find me on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. There you will find all kind of ideas on a budget for the holidays. I hope To help bring JOY to your home with out breaking your pocket book.
