DIY Personalized Cup

DIY's· Uncategorized

15 Jan

Here is a personalized Valentine DIY gift. This gift can be used everyday.

Items needed for project are:

*coffee cup ( mine is from Dollar Tree)

*tape

*permanent marker black

*heart shape or a design you want

*Aluminum foil

*oven

I love to make personal gifts. They mean so much more. Time is so precious and the fact that someone would stop their busy life yo make a special gift for me is just priceless. So, that is where my love for making gifts come from.

You will need a heart shape or design you want. Make sure you have a way to tape to the cup.

Tape to the area of the surface you want the design to show up on. I used it as double sided tape.

I chose a heart from another project. It just happened to fit perfect on the cup.

I then made sure to hold down the heart. As I started tapping the black maker around the outside of the heart. As you see in the photo.

I Continue all the way around several times. Til I got the look I desired.

I then removed the heart and added a few more dots. As if it gave the look that the heart was leaving a print behind. Kind of like how love does.

I decided to add my husband’s initial In the middle of the heart. This is a personal preference.

The next step is VERY IMPORTANT! You make the marker set in. If you miss this step your marker will rub off. You must bake at 230 degrees for 25 minutes.

Make sure you heat the cup up in the oven with the preheating setting. That way it slowly heats to the temperature called for. If you do not do it this way, You may shatter the cup.

I placed the aluminum foil on a cookie sheet that I am using to heat the cup up with. Place in the center of the oven for even heating.

I will leave in the oven for the cooling down after it has baked for 25 minutes. Takes another 25 to minutes to bring to room temperature. I then take out of the oven. I placed some of my homemade candy in the cup as well. Which you will find here on my blog on how to make.

I am very pleased with the final project. Made with much LOVE and my own hands. Which is what Valentines Day is all about. Expressing your love for the other.  More so than just Feb 14th. We all need a little more LOVE. So, express more, say it more and show it more.

Love this craft, want to try real soon. Can you bake more than 1 at a time, if so, do you have to increase the baking time? Thank you for your help.
