This year Easter will be different than any other kind. As we are getting back to the basics of life. That might even include of food storage. So, with that in mind, I wanted to share with you a recipe my grandmother shared with me growing up.

We didn’t have the luxury of going to the grocery store every day. Because we lived in the country. Going to the store was a treat only twice a month or only when necessary. My family raised our own pigs, chickens and cows. Which, made it convenient for eggs, milk and homemade butter. But when it came to special holidays like Easter. Grandma always used a brown sugar glaze on her ham.

The ingredients needed for this EASY Baked HAM is

* 1 cup brown sugar

* 1 stick of butter

* 2 tbsp of mustard

* 1 can of pineapple

* a jar of cherries optional

Unwrap the ham and wash. Pat to dry. Set a side. In a bowl mix your butter and brown sugar over heat.

Preheat your oven to 375

Mixing your mustard and pineapple juice. To the melted butter mix. Then drizzle a small amount to the ham. My ham was about 8 lbs

Bake the ham in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the meat (do not touch the bone) reads at least 140 degrees F (60 degrees C.) Making sure to baste the ham every 15 minutes. It will add layers of a juicy crust.

You can add pineapple and cherries, If you have on hand. However, they are not necessary. It does make it look colorful and pretty.

Make sure to let your ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

I ate my ham with a salad.  So I am trying to eat better to feel better. Hope you enjoyed this simple recipe that was passed down to me from my grandmother. Making the Ordinary life into on Extraordinary one!
