You all know I love changing things up. So, I was able to express that in this project. Items needed for this is.
* Wood puzzle tree- Dollar General( pack of three)
* Modge Podge
* Scissors
* Hot glue gun
*Cardstock or printed paper of your choice. Paint or stain is an option as well.
* Small pom-pom balls. Your choice color
* Fake snow- optional
* Sandpaper
* Paint brush or sponge.
You will need to cut the cardstock to fit the size of tree you are decorating. It is easier to trace the the tree first. Then to glue on top of the wood. Using modge podge.
I choose to go with different patterns. That way if I get bored with one side. Then I can change it up. Don’t forget you will need to cut the middle section of the wood puzzle. In order for it to fit together.
I wanted to rough up my edges. For a more rustic look. You can use sandpaper to achieve the look. Make sure the glue and paper is dry before doing this step.
I added a antique wax to a few of the wood pieces. I also added a small amount to the outer edges.
I fit the pieces together. As you see in this photo. It turned out just as I had hoped for.
This is where I used the small pom-pom balls. I cut them in half and spread them apart. So that I can form them as a peek on the points of tree.
As you can see the example in this photo. I spread some glue into a small mound on top of the pom-pom. Then dip into the fake snow. I went along all the trees edges. For more of a snowy white Christmas look.
I did add a few pom- poms to the top of the trees as a tree topper.
