I grew up in the 70s and this year, I wanted to make a retro Christmas tree. As always, there is a quick video you can watch to show you how I put it together. But first, let’s get you a supply list.
Watch video replay here:
Firstly, here’s your supply list
- Iredescent Christmas tree
- Ornaments (color is up to you, but mine were pink and blue)
- Yarn for tassles
- Pom-Poms for garland

Secondly, I set my tree up, which was really just taking it out of the box and setting it up. Since this tree is an iredescent tree (I found it at the Cracker Barrel) I plugged it in and let it glow! Next, I simply began to add my ornaments to the tree. As I mentioned before, I used a pink and blue theme but this is up to you and how you see it going. Also, I wanted to mention how much I love this snowman. I centered him on the tree and he is just so cute.

Thirdly, I did two DIYs. I also did this because I wanted to add my own touch to the garland. So, to create the first DIY garland for this retro christmas tree, I took some yarn and pom poms. I then simply hot glued the pom poms together on the yarn to make them look like mini ornaments. Of course, I kept with the pink and blue theme. I also made three tassel ornaments. For those, I just wrapped some yarn around my hands, tied the center and created a loop to hang it from the tree.

Thirdly, I kept adding ornaments to this retro christmass tree. There was some candy garland I added to the tree as well, but that is optional. On a side note, how adoreable is this pig ornament?

Finally, you have an incredible retro christmas tree! I hope you love it as much as I do! Remember to follow us on social media, and to check out the blog for more DIYs like this one!
