How to Make a Candle into a Decorative Sunflower

Crafts· DIY's

2 Jul

A Sunflower candle, I definitely haven’t seen those around! Of course, this one is just for display but I had tons of fun making it. Also, it would be perfect to add to any Fall decor you may be getting ready for. So, with that, let’s get into the craft! Remember too, if you don’t like reading you can watch the video replay below!

Here’s what you’ll need:
  • Sunflower napkins
  • Buffalo check napkins
  • Fake greenery
  • Scissors
  • Jute string
  • Hot glue
  • Modge Podge

Firstly, to start this craft, you’ll want to coat it with a later of modge Podge. Subsequently, modge Podge acts as an adhesive to the napkin that you will be layering onto the candle. Not only does it act like an adhesive but it also hardens when it dries.

Secondly, you’ll roll your sunflower candle into your napkin. Furthermore, you’ll want to trim any excess napkin that hangs. Try not to double layer your napkin.

Then, for the next step trim your sunflower napkin. Likewise to the buffalo check napkin, but this time you’ll cut more of the detail. Moreover, you’ll then modge Podge the sunflower onto the buffalo check.

Finally, hot glue your jute string to the top and bottom of your candle. Additionally, I added a jute string bow and some greenery to the sides. I think this craft is super chic and farmhouse.

Together with these other decorative pieces, I think I am ready for Fall! I hope you loved this craft as much I do!

Tali’s a, I enjoy watching you do crafts. When I was younger I did crafts regularly. I am eighty two now and my husband passed away and since then I have been trying to get back in it again. I want to order a couple of stencils when I can. It really looks like a lot of fun. But right now I’m in the process of getting ready to move in with my daughter, hoping I will be able expense wise to be ordering some things then. Until then May God bless you and your family and continue your walk and faith with God. Watching you do crafts passes offa lot of time for me. Thanks for your programs. A child of God
