How to Make a Cute Valentine’s Gnome

DIY's· Home Decor

14 Dec

Today I have a wonderfully cute Valentine’s Day Gnome for you all! Of course, with the holiday season coming up, we have to start making for the upcoming days! I am so excited to show you how to make this quick and easy Valentine’s Day Gnome. You can watch the video replay below!

Firstly, let’s get a supply list
  • Old Pumpkin (preferably pink but you can always paint one)
  • Ribbon
  • Gnome
  • Scissors
  • Wood heart
  • White paint
  • Napkin
  • Pink floral (any will do, but I recycled old Christmas poinsiettas that were pink.)

Secondly, start with your gnome. I cut off the original nose and replaced it with a buffalo check button to match the napkin. I do my best to coordinate everything so that way, the DIY matches itself. Since this is a Valentine’s Day Gnome, I tried to do a pink theme with some buffalo check for contrast.

Thirdly, take your wood heart and paint it white. Afterwards, apply a layer of Mod Podge. Then, you can place your napkin on top and press it down to cover the heart completely. Also, you can cover the hole at the top since you will not be using it. I then trimmed the excess napkin from the wood heart using a nail file, but you can do this with scissors if you prefer.

Then, I painted a long wood stick white, created a small pink bow and glue the heart onto it. Once I did this, I pressed it into the pumpkin, glued down my floral and then added the gnome. I love the way this little bow came out too, I found some sparkly pink ribbon in my stash but you can choose any.

Finally, you have your completed Valentine’s Day Gnome. I think he came out super cute, also that pumpkin doesn’t even seem like a pumpkin! I hope you loved this Valentine’s Day Gnome as much as I did! Please check out the blog for more DIYs like this one, also we are on social media, you can follow us by clicking here.
