How to Make a Shabby Chic Lace Flannel

DIY's· Fall

3 Aug

Of course, I love a lace flannel. However, it can be difficult to find one that suits my shabby chic needs! Therefore, I made it my mission to make my own. This lace flannel is super simple to make and actually quite easy. Moreover, with Fall right around the corner, it’ll be a must have for your shabby chic wardrobe!

Let’s get into it, here is what you’ll need:

  • Firstly, a flannel
  • Secondly, some lace
  • Thirdly, a sewing machine or fabric bond
  • Fourthly, some fabric and fabric flowers

Firstly, I found a flannel that I loved and fit me the way I wanted. This is very important because you’ll want to feel comfortable in your own clothes! Also, I find it best to get flannels from thrift stores for these crafts. I recommend this because you’ll be sewing or gluing things onto it so you won’t want to spend so much money on something you’re going to add things too.

Secondly, I found some lace that I loved. You’ll obviously be needing lace for a lace flannel! Then, I cut the lace and added it to areas of the flannel that I felt fit. Personally, I added it to the bottom, for a lace detail, and I used it to create some flowers. In order to make real 3-D looking flowers, I added some extra fabric in jean material or extra flannel material and added it onto the background. Of course, decorating your flannel is totally up to you and you’ll want to make it your own! Furthermore, I found some other lace, in a blue color, and added it to the bottom of the fabric flowers.
