How to Make a Winter Owl Wreath

Crafts· DIY's· Home Decor

13 Jan

I made this cute little winter owl on a live the other night, but I wanted to give a tutorial! Even though winter is coming to a close, I just loved the idea of this DIY. I saw many others thought this winter owl wreath was just gorgeous too. And Of course, you can check out the LIVE at the link below, but let’s get a supply list and make the craft!

Firstly, here is what you’ll need:
  • Wire circle wreath from Dollar Tree
  • White fuzzy yarn
  • Embellishments
  • Stuffed owl
  • Hot glue
  • Greenery

Secondly, you’ll want to start wrapping the fuzzy yarn around the wire wreath. This is a bit time-consuming, but it is worth it to go slow and tightly wrap the yarn. After the yarn was completely wrapped around the wire, I knotted the end and hot glued it to the wreath to secure. Then, I placed my winter owl and got him locked into place with some yarn and hot glue, this step is a bit time-consuming as well.

Thirdly, I embellished the wreath using some winter greenery. To make the pine cones, add a layer of mod podge to them and sprinkle some diamond dust. I added a few layers to make them stand out and look really snowy. Attach the greenery with hot glue and gently place some pieces in between the yarn on the wreath.

Finally, you have your completed winter owl wreath. He is just so cute. As you can see, I did add a few embellishments to the wreath and owl. Such as his bow, and the snowflakes along the top. I believe this adds some extra sparkle to him, but it is up to you whether or not you feel the same. Don’t forget, this is a tutorial on how I make it, but you can get creative and put your own touch on it.
