I am so excited to show you how to make this Acid Wash T-Shirt! Of course, you’ll need a few things to start. First, if reading isn’t your thing, no worries. There is a short video below, and I’d love for you to check it out. Now, without further a due, let’s get you a supply list.
Here is what you will need:
- Bleach
- Hydrogen-Peroxide
- A shirt (long or short sleeved)
- Stencil
- Ink
- Paint brush

Firstly, put some bleach in a tupperware you’re willing to throw away after use. Then, create your center on the shirt where you will place your stencil. I created a square but you are more than welcome to make any shape you desire. This will also be the most prominent white spot on your shirt so make sure it as covered as you want.

Afterwards, create your design where you’d like your acid wash t-shirt to have splotches. For me, I used brush strokes with my paint brush to recreate the acid wash appearance. You can also just sprinkle the bleach by doing a tapping method.
Secondly, once you’ve bleached it the way you’d like you can spray your hydrogen peroxide on the acid wash t-shirt to brighten it up. Then, allow it to dry in the sun before taking it in and washing it. Do not wash with other clothes!

Thirdly, once you’ve washed and dried your acid wash t-shirt, you can put your stencil on. I used Magnolia stencils and ink which you can purchase at this link: https://shop.bydesign.com/magnoliadesignco/#/shop/from/101468

Place your ink as instructed:
Using a silicon spread, spread it evenly across.
Less is more, you do not need a lot.
Once done, gently peel up the stencil and rinse it off.
Afterwards, take some partchment paper and an iron and set the stencil to the shirt for 5 minutes.

Finally, you have your completed, customized, acid wash t-shirt. The best thing about these shirts are that you can not duplicate the design of the acid wash, so no two shirts will ever look the same. Of course I love this shirt, but I hope you do too!
