How to Make Dollar Tree DIY Christmas Shelf Sitters

DIY's· Holidays· Home Decor

9 Nov

I am SO excited to show you these Christmas Shelf Sitters! Of course, we need some shelf sitters so I decided to stray away from ornaments this week. Before we get into the DIY, I wanted to remind you that you can watch the quick video below. With that said, let’s get a supply list and make some Christmas shelf sitters!

Watch the quick video: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=976878226591217

Firstly, let’s get the supplies
  • Two wood blocks
  • Jute strings
  • Ribbons
  • Pine and pine cones
  • Magnolia Stencils and ink
  • Scissors
  • Paint brushes

Secondly, let’s get into the craft, it is so simple! To start, stain your wood blocks with some waverly wax paint. Afterwards, dry it and apply your stencil of choice, then allow that to dry. The next part is fairly easy, twist your pine into a circle, like a wreath. In order to secure it, you will need to wrap it around itself, if this is too hard, feel free to use pliers. Then, hot glue it down, hot glue your pine cones and extra embellishments. Lastly, tear some fabric and jute string and make a small bow to apply to the bottom of the wreath. Repeat this process for the second.

Finally, you have your completed Christmas shelf sitters! As you can see, for the second one, I reversed the style of the wreath. That way, it appears different but they still match each other. Also, you are more than welcome to switch up how you make these, it’s your DIY I’m just showing you the process!

I also wanted to show you how you can set them up differently. In the last image, I had a cute simple tree behind them on the farmhouse stand, here, I placed a handsome looking Christmas gnome. Christmas shelf sitters are such a fun way to decorate your home for the Holidays. Don’t forget to follow us on social media, and the blog! There are plenty more DIYs like this one!
