Watermelon home decor is a popular theme this summer! Therefore, I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and create my own twist to it. Of course, I had to incorporate my scrap fabric into it! Without further a due, let’s get into the craft!
The materials you’ll need are:
- scrap fabric
- hot glue gun
- scissors
- pot holder
- wood beads
- jute string
- paint

Firstly, you’ll want to paint one bead a black color. Also, to add a side note, when you’re painting the beads put them into a solo cup and mix it around to coat the bead. I also added some water to the black paint to dilute it a little. Afterwards, take two more beads and paint them a pink color and then take two more and paint them green.

Secondly, you’ll want to cut your pot holder open and stuff it, then hot glue it where you cut it open. Then, cut a thread of jute string and hot glue the ends. By hot gluing the ends it makes the process of adding the beads on much easier. We’ll then begin to decorate our hanger for the watermelon home decor.

In order to decorate the jute string to match the watermelon home decor, I used the watermelon themed scrap fabric. All I did to wrap the fabric was tie it to the jute string. Once I had tied enough, I added the beads, you can do them in whatever pattern you’d like.

Finally, you’ve finished your watermelon home decor. I think this came out so cute and it was such a fun and easy craft to make. On top of that, it wasn’t too expensive! Spending only $10 for the materials I didn’t have was not awful, it may get up to $15-20 depending on whether or not you have certain materials or not.

The Finished product!
